Anlin Grid Options

Grid Patterns & Styles

Window grids are the decorative bars that divide the glass into smaller sections. They are primarily a design choice, and help match the window style to your home’s architecture. In Southern California, grids are most often used to complement Spanish, Craftsman, Traditional, and Modern Farmhouse exteriors without changing the window size or configuration.

Available grid options coordinate with the rest of your window & door package for that high-end, seamless look. United Builders can guide you through matching your frame colors across multiple openings, aligning grid patterns across multiple windows and doors, and pairing the look with the right window style, like sliders, single hung, or picture windows. Grid patterns include Colonial, Perimeter, Queen Anne, and Diamond, so you can choose anything from classic symmetry to a more decorative focal point.

Grids come in either flat or sculptured options. Sculptured grids offer added dimension and more realistically mimic the appearance of historic windows.

How to choose the right grid pattern

If your priority is maximum view and daylight, perimeter grids can keep the glass feeling open while still adding stylish detail. If you want a traditional look, colonial patterns read best from the curb. Diamond grids are typically used as an accent on specific windows, because they draw attention and can become a focal point.

A couple practical notes:

  • Not every pattern looks proportionally identical on a door because the glass area is larger. We’ll review layout so the grid lines land in a clean, balanced way.
  • Availability can vary by door configuration and glass package, so we’ll confirm the exact pattern and bar spacing at ordering.

Cleaning Made Easy

The grids in our vinyl replacement windows are placed in between the dual panes of glass for easy cleaning.

Grids (also called grilles or muntins) are decorative strips of material that visually divide the window glass into smaller panes of glass. They are designed to give homes a more traditional look by imitating the design of historic windows, which actually had smaller panes of glass held together by a wooden grid frame.
